China 101 Tour (Yu Xi level)

Day 4

In the morning drive to the Qing East Tombs, and spend as long as you desire viewing this ancient site.  Over 300 years old, the buildings and carvings are some of the best examples from this period.

    

Take a walking tour of some ancient Hutongs.  These courtyard style homes were once the prevalent housing in Beijing, but have been mostly been destroyed in the past 20 years to make room for new buildings.  There are some small pockets of Hutongs still standing and a  leisurely walk down the narrow lanes, and perhaps talking with some of the residents, can be a memorable event on your tour.

    

Enjoy the dinner at the courtyard restaurant which serves dimSum, hotpot, and traditional food.
